The person appointed (f/m/d) will represent the fields of chemistry and process engineering of energy materials in research and chemical engineering in teaching. This professorship is associated to a deputy management position in the operational department “Energetic Materials” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT) in Pfinztal.The professorship is expected to contribute to engineering and the natural sciences, particularly with regard to the fundamental chemical, reaction and process engineering aspects of developing, synthesising, characterising and processing new energetic materials. The focus will be on developing a molecular understanding of the structure-property relationships of energetic materials, modern synthesis and processing methods, and safety-relevant properties and concepts.As part of the teaching duties, we expect you to contribute to the elective courses offered by the KIT Department of Chemical and Process Engineering in the bachelor's program and in the master's program in Chemical and Process Engineering. In line with KIT's research-oriented teaching approach, these courses should cover basic topics and specific applications of process engineering of energetic materials, as well as current developments from the aforementioned research topics. The teaching obligation associated with the professorship is 2 SWS.
